Dad, they all come from the same animal!

Oh yeah right, Lisa, some "magical" animal.

Bacon is amazing. I hate ham and pork though...

Why oh why must pork be unhealthy??

I love bacon - the softer, oozier and gummy, the better. I hate the crispy or tough/leaner parts.

Speaking of pork products, I ate an entire bag of salami in one sitting.

How did you do that with the bacon slice across the forum?

I love bacon too, love all of it, the rinds and pork scratchings too, also the fatty bits, especially when its still sizziling hot and salty. Probably has taken years of my life but anyway.

LOL, I have a friend who is obsessed with bacon. She is Canadian but lives in Italy, and although she loves the marvellous food there, it's hard to get Canadian-style bacon! She posts these hilarious bacon-related updates on Facebook sometimes.

I sent her a text message once saying "Do you think that baconic relationships are really possible? Can humans and bacon ever be just friends?". She told me she killed herself laughing.

I loved visiting Rome and I've been to Malta and parts of Spain too, lovely places, lovely people but they dont have bacon or potatoes, not like they have them in Ireland.

We laughed on our visit to Rome because in a supermarket they had pictures of country scenes but there were no cows, just pigs roaming free in big green fields, with a rooster friend, we were laughing because we didnt see any greenery like that and the idea that a pig would be usurping the place of sheep or cows in the fields was funny. The had 101 pig products but not bacon like we had at home.

Also the potatoes, I was on shift the other night with someone who is African and he was telling me that where he is from they dont eat potatos and they always refer to them as "Irish potatos" when they eat them, like you could chinese stir fry or something like that, I thought that was simultaneously amusing and awesome.

Yes, there is no english bacon in Italy, that's true. We have pancetta but it's quite different, not as thick and it's mostly used as an addition, not as a dish in itself.

However we definitely have potatoes and cows, Rome is just a very small part of Italy...
