    1. People are hypocrites

    2. A corporation can commit an abuse before, during, or after producing a product. Producing a product does not absolve the abuse, nor does the use of a product condone an abuse.

    3. Who is protesting corporations?

Hm, in a way I can see how it may be viewed as hypocritical.

You can spin it the other way too though. They are everywhere!

There's a difference between having a problem with the way in which people practice x and the entire x as a whole.

I have a problem with parents who give their kids significant volumes of alcohol at eight years old but it doesn't mean I have a problem with parents.

    Exactly.
    No one is protesting corporations.

The few idiots that do that are equivalent to the idiots cheering at the Republican primary when someone dies because of a lack of health care. Those people are so tangential to the reasonable discussion that there's no point in bringing them into the conversation because there is no critical thinking going on there.

I think the complaint is against the domination of products as a way of life. Altering how to be effective in the world without a specific product. And the capitalization of that product used to back people against the wall. You need it, you must buy it, expensively. A form of mass hysteria.

To be honest, this is exactly what the whole American society is supposed to reduce (I haven't read too much on politics), isn't it? Those people are probably just lazy, and want the world to conform to them, rather than simply having the guts to forge their own way. Good or bad.

    *end political tyraid*

Or was it about something else? Like I said I don't follow politics.

There is actually a few things I've heard about these protests. At least when it comes to Occupy [Insert City]
    1. It was about how the government bailed the banks and Wall Street out
1a. In that way, you can guess that there wasn't really such a "bail out" to the average American.
    2. How the majority of Americans aren't living in such great standards(as about right now) compared to all those people in Wall Street.
2a. Generally speaking, unemployment, cut in salary, yada yada... while those who created the bank failures were able to get away with it.
2b. Generally speaking, it is on "the back of average Americans."
2c. BofA, Chase, and other banks not getting the memo by creating fees because bills were made to regulate the part that created the bank failures.

There is definitely more to it. I don't watch the news every day, but that is some of the points.

Ah, why didn't they fire the heads of the banks? I mean if we are going to (or did) bail them out, we have some leverage.

Also, doesn't bailing out the banks actually benefit the people who would lose their shit due to the failure?
