Mine is Tom Waits. Because I adore Tom Waits in all his incarnations.

And this particular photo just jumped out at me. I think it's the playful smirk on his face - which I resonate with since it's also my most-used expression.

    Or something like that.

Chose this one because it's got 70s vintage appeal, which suits my mood at the moment. It's in a library; it symbolizes my thirst for knowledge, and symbolizes something else that means a lot to me. Plus, the woman wears glasses like I do. A mix of new-school nerdiness and old-school romanticism. 'Tis me.

He is of few words, likes cars, is a sucker for cute, introverted women, and... well, I liked the movie and felt I should pick something for an avatar.

What movie/character is he? Should I recognize him?

My avatar is a character named Nemesis from DC Comics; the picture is sort of reflective of who I am; I can't tell if I'm falling apart or coming together; but I have a better idea of who I am than I did.

I chose this because I usually feel child-like wonder at the sight of curious things, and there are such bunny clouds everywhere. You have to search for them sometimes but it feels good when you find them.

So the avatar reminds me of that. And I like Amelie Poulain and wish to have a fabuleux destin as well.

The movie is Drive, and the character is never named; Ryan Gosling is credited simply as 'Driver'. It was released only three weeks ago, so I'm not surprised you don't recognize him.

A picture from a Montana restaurant sign, cropped, it’s a cat and I thought it was cute. Which is all the reasoning needed for myself.

I thought his hair was fabulous.

    Yeah, I'm a shallow person.

Oh, and this reasoning can apply to just about any avatar that I'm likely to use.
