I consider agnosticism the absence of belief in god, so yes that would count.

Awesomeness! Do I win at least a cookie?

Also why the question? I'm curious.

I am curious why you asked the question, too.

I have a strong faith in God and I don't drink, but it's not a religious conviction. I don't drink because I see it as so dangerous. I have a very addictive personality and I don't want to go down the path of ruining my life. Also, I really dislike acting stupid, and I'm sure the alcohol would bring out the stupid in me. Better left undone that overdone.

My attempt at calculating the demographics tells me it's somewhere between 2 and under 1 percent of the American population. It matters to me because I don't drink or believe in god and I'd prefer a romantic partner who doesn't. I'm not entirely that strict about it. I mean, I can take religion if someone doesn't believe in an interventionist or judgmental god and isn't try to make it an important part of my life. I can take alcohol if a person doesn't get drunk or expect to drag me to a bar. But it's just easier to say no alcohol and no religion.

I'm not attempting to field a partner from the forum, either. I'm just sort of wondering how crazy it is to have that standard.

Start hanging around with straight-edge punks or straight-edge vegans. There's surely plenty of atheists and agnostics amongst their ranks, though they tend to be just as religious about their straight-edge-ness as a religion sometimes.

My roommate is a straight-edge atheist hipster. Are you male or female, magic?
He said his ideal companion would be a non-drinker as well, but I think he gave up on this ideal over time, as he knows so few non-drinkers. He told me his horror stories of an ex girlfriend who he basically condemned from drinking, so she wound up just drinking behind his back. He doesn't do this anymore and has lightened up on the matter now.

I am wary of a cultural clique like straight edge.

    Male.

    The word hipster scares me.

I figure it is a bad idea to try making someone stop drinking. I wouldn't do that. I do want to hold out for someone that just doesn't drink. But it is hard to maintain the standard when it seems like these people are so hard to find.

I recommend a personal ad for you Magic. You have quite a laundry list. NO RELIGION. NO DRINKING. NO STRAIGHT EDGE. NO HIPSTERS.
