It's just a movie. Everything's going to be alright.

I disapprove of everything he's added to the originals, and can't fathom why he refuses to rerelease them in their original unpolluted forms. Sure, maybe he doesn't think they're as good, but why not release them anyway and let us decide which version we want to pay money for? My guess is that he's either going to do it once fans have already purchased the latest fucked-over versions, or he's just doing it out of sheer vindictiveness as a result of so many people telling him how bad his "improvements" are. The way he responded to the fans in the article linked in the op suggests the latter.

But somebody has to stop him. I'd chip in for a hit.

Bay is the master of high budget mediocrity and horrible remakes. Lucas is a money grubbing but talented control freak.

Annoying... I grew up with Star Wars as a kid, and get really annoyed with the "new cut" stuff too. The really silly thing is that even though I'm looking at these through the lens of my own childhood, most of the changes really do make the films worse. Okay... no, there's one change that made sense -- replacing Clive Revill (the original emperor in Empire Strikes Back) with Ian McDiarmid (who played the emperor in Return of the Jedi and all of the prequels). Although that had to suck for Revill.

Even putting Hayden Christensen in the final scene of Return of the Jedi (poor David Prowse), which at least didn't change anything major, still doesn't make sense... why replace Anakin with a younger version, when he didn't replace Obi-Wan with Ewan McGregor? (because Alec Guinness is a more famous actor than David Prowse, clearly).

Oh please, don't give him any ideas...

Nobody needs to see that in *another* Star Wars movie. It was bad enough the first time.

Sebastian Shaw portrayed the unmasked Vader, not Prowse.

I just pretend that there are no other Stars Wars films aside from the originals... Pretty easy fix.
