I realize this is a discussion probably meant for "Arts & Entertainment" but frankly that subforum gets so little traffic I think it's where threads go to die.

It's also an experiment in seeing whether someone with a dissenting opinion about pop culture can have a civil discussion about it.

I totally agree with your premise but I don't think the lines are that clever to begin with. I'm sure I would have found the movies better if I had seen them when they first debuted.

What about the pacing and length of the movies themselves? Anyone else find them too slow and FAR too long?

I haven't seen them, but I will eventually.
I got my smile from the sunshine,
I got my tears from the rain.
I learned to dance when I saw a tiger prance,
And a peacock taught me to be vain.
A little owl in a tree so high,
He taught me how to wink my eye.
I learned to bill and coo from a turtledove,
And a grizzly bear taught me how to hug.
But the guy that lived two caves from me,
He taught me how to love.

Does this include Mario Puzo's books aswell? I tried reading one of them and stopped after one or two pages where Puzo started the book by summarizing all the characters in the book, I felt like a tsunami of boring details just hit me in the face. The films are okay and its good acting. But it might be getting more acclaim than needed.

The Godfather is the only movie I've ever seen where I came out and felt as though there were no flaws. It was perfectly crafted. I'm no movie critic, but it left no bad impressions whatsoever.

Exactly. And why can't my username be a different color? or red?
“Some people will tell you that slow is good – but I’m here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba…”

It can't be blue because no one trusts you to wield the power that goes with it, it can't be red because you're not that much of a pain in the ass, and it can't be green because you're LAZY.

Idk about you guys, but my username looks blue to me.

    Just say no, to drugs.

I suppose it is more of a teal. But it still has some blue in it!
