    Spic - Hispanic
    Bastard - still offensive, but not related to it's original meaning of being born out of wedlock.

    Antiquated, yes... phased out of use, not necessarily.

    When I lived in southern Texas the terms "negro", "darkie" and "spic" were used by those who were most assuredly not octagenarians.

    I never thought the word 'negro' was offensive, just too much of a reminder of the bad old times. And anybody still using it probably had the mindset from then.
