    A 'card' is someone who is endearingly zany and funny. ('card' is as in "wild card") It's not derogatory.

    A cad on the other hand is a womanizer and being called a cad is not particularly polite.

    Well... the content is modern, but I do love the formal delivery. Pass! It does sound like you're personally insulting me, though. But, if you can smell my breath over the internet, I probably deserve it.

    It's the generic "you" for sure, so no insult intended to you (personal). I'm sure your (personal) breath smells like the perfume from wild flowers, after a cool, spring shower.
