Well I also don't think my definition of conservative and liberal is really as rigid, either. I know there's a broad spectrum of "liberal" ...and it doesn't mean we agree on all the same issues. I tend to agree with my INTP friend in the kind of thinking like "who gives a shit as long as they aren't voting for the Republican candidate." Seriously, because in terms of real life consequences, a vote for a liberal is a vote for a liberal, no matter how many nannies they have or if they prefer to date people within their own race (which I personally don't think has anything to do with politics, but sexual attraction which can be a funny thing). I don't presume to know or care what people are thinking inside their own heads as long they're voting for a liberal candidate.
And yes, my examples were meant to be a bit on the ridiculous and stereotypical side, because I thought his question was kind of ridiculous, though I do honestly believe that some people (like myself) tend to adorn themselves outwardly with their belief system, whether it be political, spiritual, or both. Those people are usually really glaringly obvious examples, though, which is what I was going for in my examples.
