My mother used to identify a lot with an old golden retreiver we found living out in a cornfield beside the road. She was trained and such and it was evident that she had once had a home, so we took her home to keep her for the rest of her lifespan. The dog was so happy to just have a home and would follow my mother around and just happily sit near her when she was working on things. She was also quite protective of my mom.
Both the old dog and my ISFJ mother loved "home", both were happiest to be around those who they love and both are protective of "thier people"
The other ISFJs I've met have reminded me of the same sort of thing
Human beings make life so interesting. Do you know that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to invent boredom? -Terry Pratchett
