    Default Forgetful/Zoning out.

How often does this happen to you? Any interesting stories?

I've forgotten class, keys, glasses, food (on top of car), practice, phone calls, appointments, dogs, people (uh...who is this guy?) and how to get to places I frequent. I'm practicing for Alzheimers disease.

probably 90% of my waking hours are spent zoning out. lots of weed + add = not the most productive combo.

the worst is when i forget that i'm making food. i left a pot of water boiling one time and left the house and got a text 2 hours later from my mom saying i almost burned the house down. whoops!

exactly, what's going on inside my head is probably much more important than whatever else is going on. i'm a master of tuning out people/background noise too. last night someone i was in the same room as was saying my name and trying to get my attention for like 2 minutes and i didn't hear a word of it.

Why do they even call it zone out? If it was zoning out, wouldn't you be present? Everything out would be in your zone? Peter: "Hey, whats America doing, Doug?" Doug: "Eh, they're just zoning out" - Expanding their zone. Taking over dominion on previously un-touched resources. If you ask me, that's pretty aware of one's surroundings. You ask a guy who is zoning out what he is doing, he'd tell you without a blink - because he is zoning out - because here is out of his head. Eh, its one of those phrases/idioms that don't make sense like tossed salad or jaywalking.

Seriously, I will be doing something, only to get distracted for a second, and then instantly forget what I was doing. It's kind of bizarre how forgetful I am.
I got my smile from the sunshine,
I got my tears from the rain.
I learned to dance when I saw a tiger prance,
And a peacock taught me to be vain.
A little owl in a tree so high,
He taught me how to wink my eye.
I learned to bill and coo from a turtledove,
And a grizzly bear taught me how to hug.
But the guy that lived two caves from me,
He taught me how to love.

I have been forgetting and spacing out a butt load lately. Yesterday I found myself in a spot at work and I said, "what am I here for?" and went back to what I was doing. And then I went to the same spot again, I was facing someone sitting there this time, didn't have much of a recollection of getting there. Went back to work, and then AGAIN a third time, walked up to the guy, who didn't seem to notice that I kept walking up to him. (Another space cadet I guess.) And I go, "I'm sorry, I keep having an important thought that keeps going away!!" I never figured out what it was!!
