With openness of mind, acceptance of heart, courage of spirit and gentleness of soul.

    You gave me hyacinths first a year ago;
They called me the hyacinth girl.
Yet when we came back, late, from the Hyacinth garden,
Your arms full, and your hair wet, I could not
Speak, and my eyes failed, I was neither
Living nor dead, and I knew nothing,
Looking into the heart of light, the silence.

    1) I think therefore I think...you're stupid. --> Before you say anything (Edahn) this is a deep one. Basically it means POV is everything, the external world is determined by you, and the 'reality' of things are mostly jugdements, decisions, and perceptions you've created. It's like a koan that's how deep it is.

    2) Nobody puts baby in a corner.

    3) Here I am, rock me like a hurricane.

A cheesy one which I actually think rings true and which I actually does guide me to an extent:

    4) Be the change you want to see in the world.

Another cliched one which I think is true and I tell myself:

    5) Make the best with what you have (and don't waste away for what you don't.)

And the a new one which kinda sums up what I consciously know to be true yet have trouble implementing:

    6) Fear is better than regret.

Oh, I can't forget Margaret Cho!:

    7) Be the one that you want.

I get the feeling these were supposed to be original and/or deep so I'll try again in the morning. Personally, I like the 'nobody puts baby in the a corner' the best.

Also, are we supposed to refrain from using lyrics and lines from movies and pop culture? Because those are like gold mines for wisdom (Right EffEm, right? Everyone else in LA agrees with me...)

This is wonderful, I never put it that way, but it is brilliant!

ascertain the worth of a man by the consistency of his deeds and not his words.
