    Default Strange fascinations

What strange thing are you fascinated with right now?

*strange means not normal for you.

Currently, I've developed a fascination with 20th century wars (western world) and military aircraft, weapons and equipment. Not sure why. I don't ever imagine myself using any of these things or anything close to that. I just devour information. Trying to work out why I'm fascinated with this atm. Anyways, I'm sure it'll change and next week I'll post something else.

Tell me what's piqued your interest now?

Definitely the sky. I guess this has been a mild fascination my whole life. I know it's a studied thing, but I associate the sky with spirituality. (I've been looking into the science end of it, too lately.)I just love astronomy and the stars, shooting stars, sunsets, sunrises. I'm more into it than usual because it's summer and I can be out there in the middle of the night.

    Also, vitamins and minerals.
    Neuroscience/ brain function.
    reading fiction novels.

Probably a whole slew of other things that I'm not thinking of.

-What's your favorite fiction novel right now?
    - someone once told me that you should only take vitamins if you are trying to lose weight, otherwise it's better to get vitamins from foods? Is this true or false?
    - do you like the sky more during the day or at night?

It's better to get vitamins from food, some studies are showing that they just work better, I don't think they fully understand why yet, though- it has to do with absorption. I think they still recommend supplements if you're not eating right. I'm more interested in which foods have which vitamins. My mom got into this "intuitive eating" thing, and a friend and I have been talking about it too. We've been getting a kick out of having a meal that we wanted and looking up what nutrients we were craving...

I prefer the night sky because I'm up at night...

I'm reading a few fiction novels, (more non fiction still though.) Water For Elephants has been going well.

This is such a freaking great thread idea!!

    Here's some of mine:

    - Human anatomy
    - Types of salads and how to make them
    - Interior decorating
    - The idea of catharsis, and why we need it
    - a character from a story I started writing in high school; I love the character but the story sucks. Am currently trying to figure out something else for him to do
    - X-Men: First Class

Jeez... I could go on and on. Seriously.

EDIT: Just re-read the OP. I should clarify that I expect anything, when it comes to these weird fascinations, so by definition, none of my fascinations can be weird. Maybe I should just leave the thread.

Every fascination I've ever had was perfectly normal for Me. So I fail to see how they are strange.

Me too. I've been trying to come up with a good tattoo idea for years. Well, not trying, but waiting for a good idea to show itself. I mean, it would have to be personal, or else I'd get bored with it. But what personal thing becomes a good tattoo?

    I have over-thought the issue.
