Default Hard to type people close to you?

I have no problem typing just about anyone I meet, but I find my husband to be maddeningly untypable.

Do you find you have the same problem with people who are close to you?

Any way to get over that?

I'll say this. The more you focus, the more you lose sight of the bigger picture.

I'd say: The better you know somebody and get a better picture of them, the harder it usually gets to fit them into the broad type (or stereotype) descriptions of MBTI.
With people you don't know well, it's much easier since you have only a set of individual, clearly distinguishable characteristics. That doesn't mean that it does that people justice (imho, I think it actually shows you don't really know them that well at all), but the better you know someone, the more the complexity of character becomes apparent.

And with people you're around a lot, it becomes especially hard. I could only take wild guesses about my parents', my sister's or my friends's types. E/I probably seems to be the easiest one.
    IN SERIO FATVITAS.

That's what Archie Bunker said about "colored people."

Stereotypes are about not seeing the full picture. The closer you are to someone the bigger the picture you are going to see thus not allowing you to stereotype them. Seeing all the facets kills type theory.

I'm the hardest person to type
The people close to me are also very hard to type
First impressions leave almost no conflicting information, so they're easy
We like to type fictional characters and guestimate about total strangers or acquaintances because they're actually pretty easy

    This is right on.

The easiest people for me to type are people I kind of know but don't know too well such as acquaintances.
