Default What Was The Name of Your First Teddy Bear?

Mine was Basil. Poor Basil, he would have gotten beatings for that name in the dimension where teddies go to school.

Still, it suited him. I was going for stuffy and British.

My first teddy bear was a stuffed dog named Pup, who my grandfather also sometimes called "old Purp" when I got to be a teenager. I slept with Pup off and on until I was about twenty-five and now he's just falling apart and there won't be anything left of him if I love him anymore.

I attached some kind of superstitious meaning to him, too, like I felt like he gave me luck or something. My grandfather gave him to me when I was a little baby, and out of all of my elebenty-hundred stuffed animals, he got first place.

^Yeah my Basil was first too. My other stuffed animals were taken away from me at one point ( *still holds a tiny grudge* ) I used to get out of bed at night to tuck them into my bed and then there was no room for me, lol. Bear care, baby-feeler-style...

I used to project feelings on to my stuffed animals, like they had their arms outstretched because OBVIOUSLY they wanted to be held.

I'm now thinking of Brideshead Revisited with Lord Sebastian Flyte and his teddy bear, Aloysius.

Yaaah I think my parents were right to limit me to just one. He got the laser-like focus from there on in.

I had a stuffed elephant. Her name was Tasha.
Currently submerged under an avalanche of books and paper work. I may come back up for air from time to time.
Real life awaits and she is a demanding mistress.

I never owned a teddy bear, but I still have a stuffed shark named Crunchy.

The worst mistake people make in political arguments is assuming that the other side is not trying to do the right thing. This simple oversight makes productive conversation nearly impossible.
