First off, there's no such thing as INTP parties.

Secondly, this convo at MIT would take place in a chat room.

    For me? It doesn't matter.
For "them"? It is worse to say you met them online.

When I tried the online dating thing, if I was talking to someone close to my generation, then I would tell them the truth (we met online). If I was talking to someone of an older generation (ie. mom or grandma), then I'd lie. Hey, they sort of forced me into it. They seem to think giving my number to & going out with a random guy I met at Starbucks for 5 minutes is fine, but not someone I've talked to for weeks online, seen multiple photos of, googled their full name for a mini "background" check, etc.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

Given that I'm not prone to tennis, they're likely to assume I'm making the whole story up.
