One one hand, we are here to have fun, and everyone has a specific style of humour, otoh some people are way too sensitive for some types of humour. Conflicts are gonna happen, but some level of auto-censorship is also necessary. And some people need that:
Well, if we were to be in the sub-forums that were more towards debating... people need to learn to be able to take some heat and at least try to be a little more serious.

But at the same time, people need to learn to not go overboard as some comments can sound like trying to stab someone (yes, I am guilty of some of these.)

Yes I agree on nic and stigs points as well. I don't expect anyone to be a mind reader. But there are fine lines crossed and then there are major boundary lines clearly stepped over. I'm trying to address the latter.

Threads like that basically define insensitivity. First of all you have someone really upset starting the thread and on the first pages people are either agreeing completly with the thread starter backing him up or carefully approaching it logical trieing to disassemble what was said in the op. Then at some point someone finds a really good logical arguement and everyone agrees. It can be an arguement like "well we cant do anything about it" quite as well. By that point the thread starter already has lost his propulsion in form of anger which he had when first starting the thread. by that time then the thread becomes a found snack for the vultures making all sorts of 'tough', 'passive-aggressive' and 'ignorant' posts. It's the herd phaenomena, dumb herd follows a leader and 10 people start kicking into the same guy. it is what made the nazis strong.

If we really want to do this, I mean getting a forum etiquette, I vote that we set the standard very high. And then I want to be a mod too and kill everyone who just was a slight bit ugly on beautifulpages.com

Yes, I might take up that suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm no troll.

Vote Smiley for Mod 2011 and I'll see to it that CHANGE comes to this forum. Time to throw out these dirtbags.
