Well, they are real people, lol. Having said that, if I ever have people come at me, I won't care. This thread wouldn't be here if I had been the target.

The forum is a diversion for them, and so are the forum members.
^Good point. I'm glad you made the distinction.

Ugh, I'm getting into murky water here, because I know things don't fit neatly into F and T categories. I wonder if there is still an F/T divide though in this respect, in terms of conceptualizing people from the internet, possibly the STs are just generally more respectful regardless. I really don't know, hence the questions.

Now that I'm thinking more about it, could just be a certain trait more common to those who share a preference. e.g. cynical as opposed to idealistic. Those aren't inherently T or F.

Yes, I think so too. But I have heard more than a few NTs say they don't think of people on the internet as "real".

or just, Ts tend to focus on facts and truth and do not always consider the personal implications of their statements. even more so for NTs because their realm is that of ideas and concepts and is more removed from the world as Fs are likely to see it, one of minor personal nuance.

to take the example we are using, the inflammatory comment was really just an observation. it was true. i've seen the photos around a lot. it just happened to be tinged with derision if interpreted in a personal light, which obviously the receiver of the comment will tend to read it in and Fs will tend to read it in.

Yes! And that is why it is soo good!

(OMG Cracked! I only just found that recently. Once there, it's so hard to stop clicking their damn links. )

I have heard the same thing.

I go in the opposite direction. Internet people are people to me until they prove otherwise.

    Run away!

Anyway, aside from all the new smileys (I might cull some of the old ones and add a few more I found), most of this is about learning to coexist despite differences of perspective.
