    Well this thread has turned out to be quite interesting

    I've been doing a lot of lurking lately partly due to this.

    But I wouldn't say that there is nothing new. Just takes a couple shovels: one for digging up some more threads, and another to get this gigantic pot stirring.

    Well it's a mixture of things: I like the people on this forum and their diversity of opinion, I think there are quite some intelligent and wise people on this forum and people who think on their own, as compared to perC which are in my opinion mostly bots. I like the american language and culture and way to deal with things. Tho sometimes I could beat the crap out of them for being so wrong imo. I like the openess of communication and life experience some members willingly share on here. You just see by what they write that they lived thru it. I feel that, coming myself from a rather troubled background and having had a rough start into life that on here I can share what I have learnt in that time and people understand me. While in real life I often feel that I am the only one whose portfolio isnt perfect and who is not perfect.

    I would have never thought I would ever say that in my life but I like the community here, the people and I feel like being part of something. Tho I always like to be a renegade in that group, everybody has accepted that and that just feels good.

    Seeing with new eyes is an art in itself. And thinking with a beginner's mind is the art of innocence.

    But when we become grimmed with oil and toil, the deep down freshness of things bursts out like lightning from crushed foil.

    It's easy to think that nothing new ever gets introduced when you see a lot of things you have seen already, but...
    The fact of the matter is that it's a wrongful conclusion.

    Seriously, just start searching for topics you *haven't* seen before, and you'll find plenty.

    It's time to dig deep into the archives.

    If you're not finding anything you like, just leave and find something else so the people who are actually doing something can enjoy their time without having to filter through fluffy bullshit like this.
    Whoops.

    I did get bored for a while about 6 months ago - it was for the same reasons you said, as well as distractions IRL. I rarely checked in for a couple of months and then gained interest again.

    I've dreamt in my life dreams that have stayed with me ever after, and changed my ideas;
    they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.

    I've been quiet for a bit. Personal stuff consuming me and nothing grabbing my attention on here. It passes, but the things that interested me a few years ago, just don't interest me now. Plus I just drift in and out any way.
    Currently submerged under an avalanche of books and paper work. I may come back up for air from time to time.
    Real life awaits and she is a demanding mistress.
