I recently obtained a copy of the complete fairy tales collected from the Grimms brothers, and reading one story a day...I'm not so sure about my favourites, but surely you have your own!
Even when we have lost hope in resolving the problems we have, we are still fundamentally part and parcel of the world. By virtue of this understanding, we can do anything realisable within the universe. [So don't give up ]
If you don't like the way this universe is - go somewhere else!" - Richard Feynman
I remember when I was little and had that book I repeatedly read "Snow White and Rose Red" and "Hansel and Gretel" and "Rumplestiltskin" and "The Fox and the Geese."
I also really liked "The Princess and the Pea" and the "The Ugly Duckling" but those aren't Grimm's, they're Hans Christian Anderson.
Additionally, I think Cinderella was done really well as an adult story in Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Geoffrey Maguire. I also like his re-telling of "Snow White," which is called Mirror, Mirror. I'm a huge fan of Snow White in almost every form.
