I usually do speech to text while I'm on the road because I have no physical keyboard and the phone is pretty good at figuring out what I've said (though occasionally there's a rather amusing mistake here or there! )

I passionatly hate text speak though... if you can't spell a full word you shouldn't be ALLOWED to text, in my book

Thanks. And I am in your book. I can't spell a full word ..
I rephrase. I cannot text a full word. I cannot text a half word.
There was a time I was able to text two letters in succession. But it is ten years hence.

Anyone who abuses "lol" is my texting nightmare. I strive to use proper spelling and grammar whenever possible (word limits can force me to shorten certain words). I find it difficult to converse with people who don't use proper spelling/grammar... drives me nuts!

The worst mistake people make in political arguments is assuming that the other side is not trying to do the right thing. This simple oversight makes productive conversation nearly impossible.

My name is random, and I am a terrible, terrible texter.

Mostly it's just because my phone is not on me (temporarily lost or forgotten) or not charged (lost charger or forgot to charge). I also forget to check it, and my voice message box has been full since I got it (used phone, never emptied it, lol)

I consider "lol" to be a real word now (lol). It doesn't really mean "laughing out loud" anymore anyway. Count it as one more strike against me as a texter, as if I actually needed another strike.

(but despite my flip-phone with no keyboard, I do spell things correctly and most things in full, I will usually sometimes correct typos, and I refuse to use that "u 2" crap. )

I just love how people equate people's text language as "text speak." I said lol out loud to a girl at work and she said, "stop using text speak." I was like, lol, do these people who text these days and converse about it not know that some people were USING this type of language 15 years ago?
