    I find this question near-impossible to answer, not simply because I would rather have both, but because it depends on who the people are. For instance, if I had to choose, I would rather be respected by co-workers, bosses, subordinates, or teachers, but I would rather be liked by my family and friends.

    I learned to dance when I saw a tiger prance,
    And a peacock taught me to be vain.
