    Sigh, why do these things always degenerate into random internet searches...I'm not disputing that it's a noun (Oxford Dictionary suffices), but who the hell is Pat McAnaney over anyone else? (S)He doesn't look like a language expert to me.

    At any rate, the sun has now risen and I've been up all night so I'll make this brief. You seem to have shot yourself in the foot here.

    the whole nature of knowingness is to throw out what is sold to you and scrap together ideas to form an opinion of your own.
    How exactly can you do this without, and I quote, "any logical external references" ? How can you form any kind of opinion on this topic without external references?

    At any rate, I'm not sure I see the point in carrying on...I wasn't really questioning the use of the word, just the quote you found to support yourself. Nature of knowing, knowingness, it's all the same to me
