Isn't Canada counted as country outside of the US?

Yes, but from where I'm at, Canada is about a five-hour drive, so needless to say, it's relatively easier to get to than, say, Germany or Japan.

But let's say you live in Europe, in Germany for example and close to French border. According to your logic, going from Germany to France wouldn't be like going to another country?

Yes, but all over MySpace and even here, Americans seem to be able to travel to Europe, Japan, and whatnot, and I just become envious, which leads to resentful.

    Grrr. Why can't I travel?

I've only been to Mexico and haven't made it even to Canada yet.

My St. Patrick's Day observance for the day is complete: my kids are wearing green to school so their toes are safe.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Money is always a matter but why not saving some?
I heard lots of stories of people who saved money for a trip a long time and then travelled on low budget.

I'm a little bit of Scottish, but not Irish that I know of. Still, I have nothing against Irish people. So Happy St. Paddy's Day from me, too!

Well, going through countries in Europe is generally like going through states in the US in terms of distance. I just become jealous of knowing that people at college (in the US) were able to go on vacations to Scotland and stuff like that. It just sounds so easy for them to go on those kinds of long distance trips.
