    Question Mating behaviour

Just as there is no Chinese Physics anymore than there is American or Australian Physics. There is only Physics.

And equally there is no female Physics anymore than there is male Physics.

In the same way there is no female thought anymore than there is male thought. There is only thought.

And on the internet there is no intrinsic male avatar anymore than there is a female avatar. This is because on the internet time and space are abolished along with gender.

The internet is a bit like heaven that knows neither male nor female.

So how to explain this obsession with gender?

Well, in real life most of our members are in the market for a mate, and they let their mating behaviour spill over onto the internet.

But let's face reality - the internet is a very strange place to look for a mate.

Would you allow me to tailor custom INFJ wool into pimp hats?

... I just realized that sheep is wearing wool ...

We should collect the lent from the clothes dryer and make a line of human hair clothing like Buffalo Bob but less suave.

Before I posted a pic, it seemed most people thought I was male. I remember the first time I spoke on ventrilo someone going, "Holy shit, you're a girl."

And I think a lot of people didn't see the pic, so I still got a lot of "Oh, I thought you were a guy" after that.

I think, as a standard, people will automatically assume male for most posters unless you have a obviously feminine name and avatar.

Actually it kinda does, but it was your general posting style and demeanor that made me think that you were a guy.

Exactly what do you mean by that? You mean like I was an obvious guy with a cartoonish demeanor that developed into a more womanly persona over time (or as my avatars changed over time)?

I appeared on the confusion list despite having a very feminine avatar

Yeah, most people think I'm female. I have no idea why.

Whatever, when you first arrived, you had a dog as an avatar. My confusion was justified.
