see that's the beauty of not believing in something you can make it be however you want. Like my hell is being inside a giant s'more roasting over a campfire.

    Presuming I were religious...

I probably wouldn't specifically seek do something really evil, but I would lose my concern about anything I wanted to do, and I knew I could get away with. Basically, I would probably try to do everything I ever wanted to do, regardless of whether it was evil or not (most of them probably wouldn't be, a few would, and a few others might even be considered good). Basically, I would try to enjoy my life, since I'd know these would be the only memories I'd have to comfort me in the endless torture to come.

It's kind of a depressing idea, honestly.

If a person knew that they were going to hell for certain, then that would be the ultimate freedom. If you were gauranteed eternal torture no matter what your actions, then a person would want to get the most out of every day that they lived. Also they would have a deep appreciation of even the small things that most people take for granted. In short a person would want to live their current life to the fullest, and their actions would not be based on what would happen in the next life but only on the consequences of this life.

In a way having hell as an inevitable end is a lot like having death as an inevitable end. It's too bad that we cannot be assured of our own inevitable death.

If I was guaranteed to go to Hell no matter what, my first instinct would (and I really believe anyone's) be to create a reason for being condemned to eternal torture by living a life of sin.

No. I don't like evil. It makes my skin crawl and my stomach sick.

Then let's just pray you don't have neither skin nor stomach anymore once you're in Hell
