Default type does not automatically equal religious belief

    SJ≠Fundamentalist/Christian/whatever's prevelent in their culture
    NT≠Atheist
    NF≠spirtual/buddhist
    SP≠whatever they were raised

yes it might be more likely that people of these types are going to have these belief systems, but it's not an automatic thing. People come to their conclusion for different reasons. typing someone solely off of religious beliefs is a bad idea.

I agree. The reason I started the 'NFs are you spiritual thread', was because the I felt that the 'NFs would you marry an atheist' thread assumed that NFs are never atheists.

It's funny though. I haven't thought about it till now, but my Mom is an INFJ and is the "spiritual" type..."one with nature" and what not; my INTJ Dad is an atheist; as an ESFJ, I am what is "prevelent in my culture." I guess I'd be classified as "fundamentalist christian," church of Christ to be specific. I wasn't raised that way, I converted as a senior in high school; and one of my childhood best friends is ESFP and is what he was raised, Methodist. He doesn't really have strong beliefs in Methodism, but it's where he grew up.

However, if I gave it a lot of thought, there would be a lot of exceptions to the rule among the people around me.

    Yep.

Also see: all SFJs aren't prudes, all women who like sex aren't SFPs, every woman who won't go home with you isn't an FJ, and all FPs aren't push-overs.

Keirsey stereotypes perpetuate this kind of thing, I actually read a description on-line that most SJs don't care about the female orgasm, that SJ men are grateful to women for performing their wifely duty, that all people turned on my emotional fighting or horror movies must be SPs, and that most feminists are NFs.

I just love it. It makes my heart sing.

    Yes, they're called "Keirsey fanatics."

I would never draw a conclusion about a person's religious or spiritual tendencies on the basis of their MBTI, but I can see why a person might, if there is a correlation between specific types and specific tendencies.
