You should take a barren nympho so you could replace this with something else.

But if it does get cold at night, then I suppose I could replace the mortar and pestle with a sleeping bag. Surely I would be able to fashion one out of something. It's just a stone bowl and a stick.
or with a way to make a fire... one of the key survival components...lol...

Why would I need premade tools to create a fire? There would likely be trees of some kind on the island. There are ways of making a fire without any tools. Such ways would probably be listed in a survival handbook.

I know many of those ways, they are extremely hard to do without a lot of practice, and the most effective way, with a bow, cannot be done without some form of strong rope, with the soft sap filled fragile woods common on tropical islands, it would not work with at all,you need lots of friction... it can be done without the rope/string, but takes much more skill...

They make it look easy, but it took me weeks to learn how to do it even close to how easily they do it... its harder than it looks... fire is the single most useful tool a person can have, and it is extremely hard to use these methods to get it, even for an expert, if you cant find suitable wood, or if you do, but its even slightly damp... it just wont work... and thats a lot of wasted calories, and time, for nothing... a simple butane lighter is actually the most useful for getting fire, but I chose fire steal with magnesium, in the assumption that the exile would be permanent, or at least last more than a few years...

Edit: heres a decent guide on how to do it, just in case you are ever stuck in such a situation, id practice at home first though! lol
