Default What strange things do your pets eat?

So, all these hate threads on cats and dogs made me want to post a thread about pets and their sometimes weird eating habits...

My Russian Blue doesn't like chicken or beef, he'll really only eat turkey.... However, toss a piece of bread his way and he's all over it... My hubby learned this the hard way... He was making a sandwich and made the mistake of really protecting the deli meat, and left his bread out in the open, my cat grabbed the bread and took off running. He was stunned. He told me about it on the phone later and I just died laughing. I told him with Grayson you don't have to worry about meat near as much as you do bread.

You also can't leave french fries unattended in his presence because he'll swipe those too. Especially if they are Dairy Queen french fries. He also likes the occasional Ruffles potato chip.

Our tuxedo cat, Mr. Smooch Esquire, likes to eat vegetarian lentil soup with us. He likes it warm and fresh - if it's been refrigerated, he'll turn up his nose.

Our fuzzy tortie, SassyCat, likes to eat potato chips too!

Too funny about your bread-eating cat - we had a fluffball years ago that would eat broccoli and lettuce, but not canned or prepared meat. A good rule of thumb I guess - don't eat anything your cat wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole.

LoL! That's too funny, our cat is the same way... If something is supposed to be heated up, and you try to give it to him cold he turns his nose up at it too!

Who knew there were vegetarian kitties out there?

That reminds me... Our old dog used to have some strange habits... She'd eat grapes... but only after she peeled the skin off them... And if you held a corn on the cob for her, she'd eat all around the cob... She was a banana fiend... If she ever heard someone start peeling one she'd coming running in hopes of getting a piece. Which, again, if you held it for her she'd take a little bite of the end.

My father had a big black bunny that would take your hand off for banana.

LOL @ corn on the cob!! Without butter?

I miss having a dog - if you spilled something on the floor, it would be scoured clean by enthusiastic doggie tongues. lol

We used to have a cat that absolutely LUUUUVVED canned green beans.

Poor "Big Kitty"... she passed away probably ten years ago now.
