Default Are you young at heart?

Rather than explicitly define what I mean by "young at heart", I merely wish to know whether you subjectively feel you are young at heart or not?

Keeping in mind that being young at heart does not necessarily imply a lack of acquired wisdom, but merely reflects your outlook on life.

My heart spends every second of every day force-feeding me fabricated ideas and images of imaginary places.

    Yes, yes I am.
    I believe in make believe.

    Yes, 100%

I have an easy way of staying young at heart: my remembrance is so bad that I tend to make the same mistakes over and over again. Yet everytime before doing it you engage them with great child's enthusiasm

It could be that I'm youthful at heart most of the time, but my soul feels ancient at times. Other times I feel like a drooling toddler, heart and soul.

I was not even young at heart when I was young.

My soul has always felt very ancient in some way.

This was said in a story once...

"I am old... I do not understand this world."

That's how I've always felt internally, somehow. Not tens of years, or hundreds... but thousands or tens of thousands. All the way back to the first civilizations.

It's not a completely negative thing, though... it's like I'm not just ancient, but eternal. That's the other side of it; it feels like a source of strength and allows me to endure.

Yes, yes, YES! That's how it feels to me too, it's something I feel gives me balance.

I know what you mean with this "ancient soul" feeling. I had this when I had isolated myself from society at puberty and when I was living thru bad stages of my life. I dont want to say with that that the "ancint soul feeling" is a bad one, it was just for me.

If you would define childlike with curiosity like:

Curiosity (from Latin curiosus "careful, diligent, curious," akin to cura "care") is an emotion related to natural inquisitive behavior such as exploration, investigation, and learning, evident by observation in human and many animal species. The term can also be used to denote the behavior itself being caused by the emotion of curiosity. As this emotion represents a drive to know new things, curiosity is the fuel of science and all other disciplines of human study.
You caqn also say that people who are very curious often land in a depression at some point in their lifes because the curiosity never gets satisfied.

I could relate to all this regarding curiosity and depression, how tho do you think could one place "the ancient soul" feeling in that system ? What roots and motivations does someone have who feels like that ? Obviously it cant be curiosity since he has the feeling he knows already a lot of things ? What do you think
