    I don't think so.

It just means that you need to read more, post more, or . . . you just need to resist the urge to lie to us and yourself. Because someone out there, that is just like you, is really, really sad right now.

Well, I don't think any of us actually want to identify with others.

I, on the other hand, identify with because it makes absolutely no sense...

And yes, this particular post would be an example of the other 1%.

Probably just means you're an enneagram 4. If I understand correctly, e4s have a thing for originality and uniqueness. It's the predominant type for INFJs I believe. I'm a freaky 9w1 so identifying with others doesn't bother me unless it means there's a ruckus and extra work involved.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Nice to see you back, Pink.

Identifying is different from liking. I like a lot of people on this forum and learn from many; when I identify with someone, it means I strongly agree with and could have written something he/she wrote. The person I most often feel that with is Jennifer. She has an excellent way of expressing herself, and I often find she's writing exactly what I've been thinking. Yet we're nearly opposite types.

I also identify with Ivy - both of us are FJs on the line between S/N who are married to INTPs. I've had numerous I-know-what-you-mean moments when I've read her posts.

By the way: I *like* a lot of people here, and I often identify with posts from some people, but then they'll go and say something I totally disagree with :rolli: Which, I must admit, usually reassures me, because I would feel, I dunno, kind of redundant if there was someone else somewhere I could identify with in the way some members have said they identified with some others.

    Me and my big ego...
