Confused to your meaning, a guess>If I had to use a weapon to protect my wife or myself I like guns due to (although it’s still close to the assailant) the impersonal aspect.

No, anyone who has ever died to a violent crime had something used against them. I doubt it matters to them where it came from.

No weapons whatsoever. I feel safe where I live so I don't see the need.

no weapons handy while I sleep... I can throw a vicious punch though

anyways, we have a great security system that I know is great because I've accidentally set it off a few times and the police showed up and thought I was a burgalar at first

the kitchen is filled with cutlery, but that's because I use it to cook with and I kind of collect kitchen knives

I hope I don't end up living in a neighbourhood where that seems like a good idea.

Even then, I can't see myself ever wanting a gun even if I ended up in the States for some bizarre reason. Just seems like a bad thing to have around.

My apartment complex has 2 entrances. Both are locked and can only be opened with a keycard. Both are also guarded 24/7 by guards. These guards know -everyone- who lives in the apartment complex on a first name basis, and will stop every single person they don't recognize even if they have a keycard. You can't make the elevator go up without your keycard. You can't get into the ground floor stairwell without your keycard. I live alone, and lock the door behind me every time I walk into my apartment.

So basically the only way someone could fuck with someone in this apartment is if they lived here.

That being said, even with the use of a weapon I don't think I could ever overpower someone. I'm small, and I'm pretty weak as far as upper body strength goes. Short of learning to use a handgun, and getting a permit to own one... Theres no weapon that would really give me the upper hand. I keep a butterfly knife on my desk, but thats because it was a gift from my grandfather and I like flipping it around when I'm bored. I don't think I could defend myself with it.

My mom (ENTJ) got a baseball bat in college and kept it by her door. She used it on multiple occasions. She still keeps that same bat by the door at home.

No... I live in a pretty safe neighborhood, with two male roommates. Perhaps I might if I lived alone or somewhere more dangerous.

I do feel uncomfortable going to sleep without my water bottle within arms reach, though.

My husband has a pistol under the bed. He doesn't know I know.

I don't really approve, but I understand that he's protective of me, and the dog. It's kind of sweet.

For now, since we don't have kids, it's fine. When we do have kids, that gun will be locked up.

As for me, I used to keep my sword handy - not right by my bed, but in a closet near the bedroom.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.
