The one thing that sort of weirded me out about this forum was the threads where everyone talks about one another, and it's usually the same people doing it

I feel for you. I like you, and I've taken it for granted that you are here.

I just came across a study the other day.

It said that people who are half-popular within their groups often resort to bullying. The most popular people do not have to resort to bullying, and the less popular ones couldn't bully one if they wanted.

What I think is that people like you and me half try to do their own thing and half try to get noticed, but we got pushed down by half-popular people who want to bully people like us. We just like a very small amount of recognition but it is denied of us. Then again, we have recognition, just to a small amount. But, it's the bullying people who actively deny the recognition from us, that make us feel this way .. they make us feel that we are not worthy of anything. What I've recently began to understood, is that some people do it at such a right moment and so subtly, that it almost feels like my own invention that I'm a nobody, I'm not worthy, etc. It almost feels like I had invented those ideas myself. But, it's not. I get discrouraged easily. But in reality, it's the half-popular bullys who put the idea of unpopularity to my mind.

    I'm saying, fuck such people.

Rule on, suchIrony. You have a friend.

Yeah, if you think about it, these kids probably didn't have any other friends.

I've had many, many, many instances where I felt insignificant (just like everyone else). Personally, when this starts to happen, it's very important for me to take a week off the site. I don't want to become obsessed with trying to get people to notice me, so I take a break. By the time I come back, I'm all fresh and happy again.

As for gaining significance, just go out on a limb and talk to people. See something they wrote that you like? Tell them. Someone has a nice avatar? Tell them. Anything you can relate with, talk about. It gets easier as you go, really.

P.s... who are these popular people we're talking about? I would've sworn that I was the most popular person here. Who warranted this "group" of popular people??! There can only be one, and that one is me!

Listen to the woman, she knows.

I think, because it's such a big forum, there will be moments where anyone can feel disconnected from one another, and it's easy for your voice to sometimes get lost in the many, many voices on here.

I too tend to take breaks and enjoy engaging people that I find intriguing. It's part of what keeps me coming back to this place

Lol..I knew some T would point that out

Perhaps in comparison it is a small forum, but it's stilll a big place where you as a person can feel easily isolated and lost
