Good on them, children need to be primed for disappointment from day one.
Why do we always come here?

    I guess we'll never know.

It's like a kind of torture,

Next thing you know they'll start teaching kids about Santa Claus!

EDIT: Parents had better be careful, though. I read a news story once about how a kid burned his parents' house down because he didn't get what he wanted for Xmas.

That's right, Mort, never trust anyone because they're all out to fuck you over! Do you have any idea how much I go through to NOT have that mentality? Any idea at all? Grow the hell up!

Honestly if you aren't going to get him the damn Xbox say you aren't and tan his hide if he freaks out about it - don't fuck with his head.

Don't blame me for your internal struggle. And don't ask me questions about it because I don't know, nor care.

But if I'm happy with the mentality you mentioned, what's wrong with me expressing it?

A child with such a crude and unsophisticated haircut didn't deserve to have such a sophisticated toy. Besides, that kid looked like a hoodlum that could steal a thousand of them and have his own enterprise in his garage.

I bet the kid thinks Xmas is a big sham now, so in the long run, he's been given the gift of truth, which is way too big to wrap.

The whole thing is probably staged, just a subversive ad for XBox 360.

I thought Mort was pretty freaking funny. Sounded like something Steven Colbert would say.

Whether he meant it or not isn't something I even considered. It's just so contrary to how most people would respond that it's funny.

When I was like 8 my uncle pulled a similar prank one Christmas morning involving a conspicuously open garage door and horse/pony manure and an empty saddle.

My cousins didn't appreciate it as much as I did.
