    It can actually be developed.
    1. Try to disable self-censoring and just say without thinking (TAKES TIME)
    2. Read, listen to and watch funny things, it will rub off.
    3. Disable your seriousness. You ain't funny when you can't make fun of yourself.
    4. Being mildly drunk helps point 1 & 3.
    5. Think "what would Joey have done?"
    6. Dump political correctness. It sucks.

I don't think it can really be learned either. I mean... I don't usually think of myself as being quick witted. I just would say the (sarcastic) thing that immediately jumped to mind unbidden. Somehow these things got me a bit of a reputation. They should hear all the things I don't say. That filter gets clogged up constantly.

Knowing random facts helps contribute to my wit a lot. Sarcasm is almost essential in my opinion. Also, taking literal meanings of things opens up opportunities for whit.

Watch James Bond movies and learn how he plays with words when he kills a bad guy (i.e. saying "Shocking" when he drops an iron on the guy in the bathtub), and then watch other movies and try to come up with your own play with words based on the scenes. Then apply this to different events in real life.

Actually, as stated above, it can be learned. It is in the possibility for most of us. Even if a person is really stupid they can be funny. It doesn't matter.

I was about as dry as old aged Gin when I was younger (think it was because I was picked at in school when I was about 12-15 and hated my own guts). But I started practicing and most people find me very amusing in real life nowdays And if they don't, they at least find me very offensive

Political correctness is never appropriate in humor, anyway.

In fact, it's hardly ever appropriate in serious issues, either!

I was thinking more extreme stuff...

I'm of mixed race ancestry and my entire family are socialists and communists who opposed and in two cases fought the nazis, and I sometimes joke wildly about the holocaust and your namesake, Adolf

Holocaust humor is funny, isn't it?

I'm the kind of person who makes fun of practically everything, too!

But the key to being funny or creative is to never take yourself or anything around you seriously. That way, inspiration flows freely.
