No, I'm not personally offended, but I do feel used.
I have read that NTs fear being taken advantage of, so I'm not surprised that that's how I feel.

I have spent a good bit of time thinking about and responding to this person's posts lately.
I have better things to do than being used to do somebody's homework, or whatever.

It's not really THAT big a deal, but the jig is up - at least where I'm concerned.

Personally it doesn't bother me... I could give away personal details 'til the cows come home and none of you would know me still. I have a slippery essence. Ain't nobody grabbin' it.

huhuhuhuh Pull my essence... huh huh, huh huh...

I don't think it's really an NT thing. Many different archetypes of people could become offended by this sort of thing, depending on how they were approaching it. We all can feel betrayed, in different ways.

Yeah Jennifer, I thought that was a sorta odd thing for INTJMom to say and felt almost sure she was joking. Cos y'know, I feel I get as much out of replying to threads as the thread starters get out of my replies, or probably more. So regardless of what it is to them, it's all good to me.

In the process of replying to a post I can figure out or realize a dozen things I didn't even know I thought, through the process of articulating it externally. So, there you go... I've got my reward already - anything else is a bonus.

Poor guy, probably just wanted to make some friends.

Of course we all know who flushed him out:

    Ahem.
Why do we always come here?

    I guess we'll never know.

It's like a kind of torture,

proud of yourself Mort? I'm still mad that Adam007 didn't answer my PM asking "who are you? please tell us! I've told you about me, so now I feel that you owe me some satisfaction to my curiosity! "

But surely E's and P's are the ultimate users anyway? I mean, we P's need something to flex against and we E's need someone to interact with, so everyone from our most beloved family members to the schmuck that sits next to us on the bus is of some use to us, ultimately, in a purely impersonal way besides any other, more personal ones.

We're all just elastic bands looking for catapults to stretch across, stones to ping and targets to ping them at. Other people fill those roles.

Yup. When it all boils down to essentials, E's and P's are users. But I's and J's don't escape that easily either - J's being the ultimate target finders and catapults, need elastic bands to use and I's need people to ignore and to know that they don't need them so they can feel smug and put-upon by their infernal chatter

From using an internet forum to do our homework to using our spouses for companionship and sex, all the way through using our friends to hold this box while we open this door and using our teachers to selfishly learn stuff from, we're all a bunch of using tossers, really.

We should all be taken out and shot at dawn. Only a truly altruistic person could perform this, so we'll have to wait 'til Jesus comes back.

    *taps fingers*

    *twiddles thumbs*

    *looks at watch*

Well, we could just post and reply for a bit longer while we're waiting...?

Oh, give it a rest. It's probably just some kid who weren't really thinking about it. And if he's so much into the relationship threads, maybe his problems does not allow him to spend much time helping others at this point in his life. Right?

Those of you who are christian, you won't get to heaven for demanding things in return for helping strangers

And those of us who are atheist know no one's going to heaven anyway.
