My graininess is a combination of camera and compression.
This is the camera I have. It's a nice compromise between those pocket cameras which carry for me the connotation of sorority girls on their way to an invitational, and the larger cameras for the more serious photographer. Also, I couldn't really afford much more than I paid for this one through costco.com. My parents purchased this model at the same time I got mine, and it's really nice. Lower megapixel count, but the 12x optical zoom makes up for it. I'm jealous of their lens! I guess I'll just have to save my money and get a nice supplemental zoom lens for mine.

    Nice.

I am so freaking old (and so far ahead of my peers) that I was out of college before you started, so I don't have any associations regarding any type of digital camera at all. I just see the ultra-compact ones as very useful for carrying around to take quick high-quality pictures. The digital cameras in cell phones are still too far behind to not carry a real digital camera in the laptop bag, and you certainly cannot carry a larger one with you unless you have a specific purpose in mind for it. I have a pretty high-end film SLR, but I found that I only use it when I have planned to use it, and even if it were digital, I wouldn't use it on a whim for a nature shot in the woods, quick whiteboard shot in the office, or random one-handed two-shot.

My youngest brother, whom I believe to be ISTP. Edit: I talked him into taking a type test since he is here for the day. His results are ISTJ and he thinks the description fits.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
