Default Situations you never want to be in.

I actually thought of this one while misreading the name of another topic, and thought it would be interesting to discuss. I have several of these, actually:

    1. Being forced to choose between my own life, and that of someone I cared about.

    2. Being surrounded while being publicly ridiculed and mocked, and being forced to endure it because there is no escape.

    3. Having to watch helplessly as something or someone I care about is destroyed (I think it's worse if you have to watch).

    4. Becoming so invested in something that I can't extricate myself if something starts to go wrong, and thus be forced to bear all the consequences of the failure.

    5. Being trapped forever in a place with no computers, books, telephones, or other people.

There are probably more, but I can't think of them just now. So, do you have any? What situation do you fear most?

Top of the list. Being stabbed in the eye.

Getting an erection on a packed bus.

Losing the key to my flat. I know this doesn't seem that big, but I OBSESS over this.

Getting into a physical fight. Unless the odds are clearly in my favour.

Being on the planet when it finally becomes uninhabitable.

Being falsely accused of being a peadophile.
Why do we always come here?

    I guess we'll never know.

It's like a kind of torture,
To have to watch this show.

I always get erections on packed buses. Nobody notices!

    - Assuming I procreate, having to always worry that some pedophile or psycho is going to harm the offspring. And then I might kill said offenders--

    - Becoming so enraged for a loved one that I accidentally kill whomever harmed them.

    - Having to watch or hear of someone pass away when it 'wasn't their time'.

    - Discovering the person I've finally opened up everything to destroys my trust...

    - Discover that when Bush leaves office that he mysteriously becomes intelligent. *shivers*

    - Waking up to realisation that I never found my soul mates.

    - I become mentally or physically incapacitated and can't function on my own.

    - World War III. Over fresh water or religion or because as Bush is leaving he accidentally mumbles "the coast is clear" and Cheney misheard it as 'the cost is here' and blurts out they don't know yet since they're still wiring old "Axis of Evil" funds to Iran, Kenya and Pakistan and---oops...

    - Live in the next few years if everyone says "like" after every word. I'd sooner shoot myself than particpate in their slaughter of language. -- This should probably be my first one...

    - Collapsing on my way to bed as I'm leaving right now...

Even if you were selected for the starring role of a new zombie movie, and would be given handed a check with many, many zeros on it?

I don't wanna die alone, unliked or even hated.

I also hate when people trust me, I do my best, but still fail to deliver due to the circumstances

If my family would die, i'd not want to live

    1. Being dismissed or misjudged or rejected or shunned without having done anything wrong to deserve it.

    2. Breaking promises I had every intention of keeping, to people I care about, because I feel I have no choice.

    3. Not being "alive" in the sense of being a unique, autonomous person; contrastingly, just being a "role" or "pawn" and dominated by someone else.

    4. Being completely dependent on someone else and unable to care for myself.

    5. Being unable to find people (SO or friends) willing to engage me on a very deep and intimate level.

    6. Imposing on or hurting others, in general, without ever meaning to.

    7. Losing control of my emotions, doing and saying horrible dreadful things to others.

    8. Making choices and having them be the wrong ones, in hindsight.

(I also used to really fear looking stupid. I don't like it much, it's embarrassing, but I have eased up some on that.)

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft
