    Damn you Lynch!
I came here just to post that movie. I have a pet theory that Mulholland Drive is David Lynch's fuck you to weaselly movie critics. He deliberately made an unintelligible movie that he knew lapdog critics would praise precisely because they didn't understand it. The one thing critics can never do is admit they didn't understand a film, so they'll bend over backwards to try.

I don't actually believe this is true, but I so hope it is.

    I still love Pulp Fiction.

But I am still upset The Return of the Jedi had Ewoks[\

I was pretty disappointed with this one too. I love Benigni, but this movie sucked.

+1 for What Dreams May Come. And +100 for Ewok part of Return of the Jedi.

Another one I really disliked was Crash. I didn't understand how it got good reviews. There are Aerosmith videos with more complex plots than this movie.

I hate multiple movies my mother made me watch:
    • The Piano. According to my mother it was a very romantic movie, but it bored me. Not sure what the movie was about, I believe it was about a deaf woman playing the piano. Boring! When I showed that I didn't like this movie, I was suddenly "being childish" and I "couldn't appreciate anything but low brow comedy".
    • True Women. My mother bought this movie because it was about "strong women" and for some reason she has this obsession with strong women and hoping to become one of them. It was about some chicks from old times who were going somewhere I can't remember. I hated it. This time I was accused of being childish as well.

Fortunately the roles have been turned. Now I make my mother watch the movies I like, action movies and a good amount of Tarantino shit - and she loves all of it.

My father has a bad movie taste as well. He likes chickflicks (I'm not kidding here, just two or three days ago he watched The Devil Wears Prada and he truly enjoyed it) and I don't really understand the rest of his movie dogma. Some bad movies he introduced me to:
    • Bridget Jones's Diary. Okay, I liked this one when I was 12, but I grew older and I learned this movie was like many other movies that get on my nerves; it's nothing bur propaganda for traditional families. It's not that I'm against the whole traditional family thing, it's okay, it's just that ever since I realized I will never be able to live up to that dream, everything that promotes it gets on my nerves.
    • American Gigolo. What? American Gigolo. No, this is not a porn movie, it's some eighties movie with Richard Grere (or whatever that guy's name may be, you know who I'm talking about, it's that guy who hired prositutes in Pretty Woman, fucking sicko). It's boring and it's filled with eighties music.

There are also some movies I've been introduced to by people other than my parents, which I turned out to hate:
    • De Storm. It's a movie about a water disaster that happened in the Netherlands in the fifties, it killed many people from my grandparents' village. My grandparents both survived it and my grandmother had decided she never wanted to watch it. Out of respect for her, I decided not to do so either. But one day I had to go to the cinema with school and all pupils had to watch it. It was an overly dramatized story with a crappy ending.
    • Titanic. They showed this movie on the bus when I had to go to Spain with my father, seven years ago. This movie is boring and it's way too girly. Boohoohoo.
    • The Notebook. No comment
    • The Saw movies. I had to watch it when I was visiting someone a few years ago. It's not my genre, I'm afraid I'm too empathetic to watch movies like that. I can't see people go through a lot of physical pain, even when I know it's not real.

And, of course, the movies I used to like, but which I don't like anymore:
    • The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. When I saw them on TV a few weeks ago, I thought these movies take themselves way too seriously. I didn't notice it way back in elementary school, or maybe it didn't bother me, but the seriousness has become too much for me.
    • The Shrek Movies. I guess I grew up and they couldn't enchant me anymore. I think it could be because all the characters have the same facial expression or because they didn't use the actors well enough. Mike Myers for example, if I didn't know it was him who did the voice of Shrek, I wouldn't have known. Same with Eddy Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, John Cleese and all the other big names. It's a pity. These movies could have had more potential.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

Oh, forgot "King Arthur". It was just a bunch of battlefield scenes and when I watched it, I was like "so, when is there anything gonna happen?".

re: SAW I don't have a problem with the torture porn genre as much as many movie critics but the plot holes and BS/little sense, end "twists" piss me off. Whats worse for some reason I end up watching them all on DVD evidentially and don't know why.

Yes I now hate Shrek...the only difference with me is that I ALWAYS HATED SHREK!

Yes - it's Richard Gere. I like those two. Girly shmerly.
