Yeah, me, too. I want to climb around in there and explore. I like the picture so much better without the monk, though. The monk makes it look like it's trying too hard.

Cool pic! I like the architecture--makes me want to know where the place is and it's history. The monk in the corner--genius. What in the world is he thinking about. And the sepia tone--what an atmosphere. Feels like a place with a story, that I just want to learn more about. Actually reminds me vaguely of one of my fav books Pillars of the Earth.

I just feel really annoyed by this monk guy's insufferable presence. He needs to die, fast.

I see that there's destruction, but I don't find that a bad thing per se. The scene seems so story-rich that I want to go digging. It looks like an adventure waiting to happen.

I didn't notice the monk for a couple seconds, then when I did, he kinda ruined it.

I don't feel anything. I did not react to the monk. But I'm wondering:

    -Where? [Italy? Western mediterranean Europe?]

    -When?

    -How?

Why did the stone archs resist? Why have bushes had time to grow in the ruins of the cloister? It can't be bombing, it probably isn't an earthquake. Maybe a fire?

Yeah I agree, i don't know how you infer a single solitary thing about the person in the pic..... not even that it's a monk. In fact how do you even know it's a guy? is that a moustache?

The mood evoked mirrors elfin's : sadness/romantic longing for past greatness and function. (looks like a broken aquaduct)
