I never followed any ten finger typing classes, so I assume my 48 pm (two fingers) doesn't exactly count. I'm still proud I'm half as fast as most people.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

hmmm this thread makes me want to be a much faster typist . I am horribly slow at it.

'Horribly' slow at it? Sounds darn English doesn't it?

I actually don't use the "home row" method that you're taught to use. I started using the computer when I was really young... well before any of my classes taught us how to properly type. By the time we had computer classes I had already been typing at 50-60wpm without resting my fingers on the home row keys. I couldn't seem to re-teach myself how to type, and I'm pretty sure I'm doomed to type incorrectly forever.

same. But it's not incorrect, you just have a different method of achieving the same result.

didn't take the test, but I'd estimate like maybe 60 words per minute. I pause a lot when I write, Idk why (usually to edit while I go). Also, I hover around the keyboard, and only type with my index and middle fingers. Left hand handles everything west of 'T-G-B', and right handles the east of that.

60 wpm, no errors (because I went back and fixed them). Assuming I forgot about the errors my speed would probably rise to about 80 wpm, but the number of errors would rise dramatically.

74 wpm one error. Maybe I would have done a little better in my mother language though, since I have to concentrate less on how the word is correctly written when reading it.

I don't use the 100% "correct" 10 finger typing system either I believe. I learned typing myself and have probably my own system, but it works ok I guess.
