so so, the worst though is that when he says "shoot the glass" in German, he actually says "shoot the window" while pointing at a glass wall in the middle of the wall. I actually considered emigrating to the US and becoming a cultural and linguistic consultant in Hollywood to help avoid mistakes like that. Sounds like a good business idea?

I'm not sure if that pays as well as it does teaching actors accents and languages.

My all time favorite Christmas movie is the Lion in Winter with stellar performances by Peter O'Toole, Katherine Hepburn, Anthony Hopkins and a very young Timothy Dalton.

*Eleanor: How dear of you to let me out of prison.
Henry II: It's only for the holidays. *

*Prince Richard: Is this an audience... a good night hug with kisses... or an ambush?
    Eleanor: Let's hope it's a reunion. *

'The Lion in Winter' is one of my favorite films, but I have never thought of it as a christmas movie.

Haha. I can see why, although the setting does take place during Christmas and I always watch it then. Although I have to admit usually after the family has all gone home!

It actually doesn't pay that well and most of that work is farmed out to traditional translation services at the production stage. Subtitle translation for DVDs is a source of work, but the kind of cultural consultant job you describe doesn't really exist in film production. They're more likely to have a lackey investigate on the internet than hire an expert.

I love 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?' for the same reasons.

    Home mother fucking alone.
    Chimera of Filth

A gruesome beast with dripping flesh
Clings to me as a sick fixture
My throbbing heart it gnawed apart
It stalks and hunts me through mirrors
