I'm kinda with Metaphor, I think.

But it's possible to explore the idea of masculine and feminine energy, and the positive/negative uses of such. Each person typically encompasses some amount of both energies, in order to be healthy, but males typically live in masculine energy and females in feminine. It kind of determine how one's focus and power and capacities get channeled. It's important to find the balance where you feel most you.

At that point, when you're most you and projecting that reality, then the people who mesh with you will find you.

That would be kind of funny, since pretty much all of his major characters (where he doesn't need to act, but just be himself) -- and I am thinking Rocky and Rambo here -- are introverts. They brood and internalize, even if they are men of action.

I guess that's my way of saying, "Sorry, I don't see it."

I think Rambo is an introvert for sure, but I'm not sure about Rocky. He broods, but I think it's just because he's poor. Look at how outgoing he is with Adrian, how much he urges her brother to be a nicer guy, how much of a bleeding heart he is with his son, how he just wanders around the streets and rambles with strangers (or even how the first movie opened, where he's kind of trying to mentor some kid he came by).

my real man is on the other end of the couch... you may not have him

he LIKES traditionally "manly" things like organizing the garage, working on vehicles and grilling things... and guys nights in or out (to which I'm always invited for some reason )... however, he cooks dinner a few days a week, likes to do laundry and I have seen him tear up while watching The Biggest Loser...

and yes, I DO know how to cook, though I'm a terrible seamstress (in the sewing sense! ) and I collect skirts and sundresses... I also enjoy wandering about in nature and work in a male dominated profession

I'd be happy to fix you up with my ESFJ ex. I don't know how old you are, but he's in his mid-30s, will carry your groceries, walk on the street side when you stroll on the sidewalk together, lifts weights, could fight or shoot any person who would become a threat to you, will scream at you if you don't put his name first on the gift tags at Christmas time, and might smack you around if your sandwiches don't cut it.

    Let me know.

When I was younger I was more specific about what an ideal relationship would be like. Looking back I think that idealism as part of not being ready for a relationship. It is a great way to keep it at arms' length at a time in life where there is inner conflict of wanting it, but not entirely.

There are wonderful men in the world. Being able to find someone has a lot to do with knowing what matters and what doesn't. One of my favorite shows, Seinfeld, is a perfect example of what not to do. People were rejected for the most minuscule, detailed, external, useless reasons. That also is something to do when not ready or deeply interested in a relationship. There are things that matter, and might even be non-negotiable, but they are more like principles rather than specific applications of that principle. Long-term relationships require a tremendous amount of flexibility, but that is part of what makes it interesting. "Don't sweat the small stuff" is important, be patient with the kind of important conflicts, and try to figure out ahead of time the non-negotiables, but keep them to a minimum and find ways even there to re-contextual or something to make it work as well. The most basic type of non-negotiable is that both people need to have a desire to be together.

Pornography is quaint and ritualistic and nostalgic for the Age of Print where men were men and women were women.

There have been two great changes that change everything - nuclear fission and the internet.

Nuclear fission gives us clean energy and the internet takes down the walls - even the walls of the brothel.

And what we can see no longer controls us. Who here wants to be a 'real' man? A 'real' man is a figure of fun. He is 'father knows best'. He only figures in the wet dreams of adolescent girls.

So we see that the problem lies with your awareness. If you want to take this any further, I suggest you give an example of where you think I should have taken a stand and did not.
