Exclamation The Notebook: Love it or Hate it?

Seeing what people say, and seeing if the majority votes for what I think it will vote for.

    Post, too, btw...

I voted no on the Notebook. Not my cup of tea sort of story anyways, the full-on-romance-with-little-else-to-the-plot.. but I have enjoyed romances before.

This was not one of them.

I thought the parts I was awake for (I dont fall asleep often in movies) were slow to move, dull, and the acting wasn't so great. It was too.. high schoolish. Like a high schooler wrote the tale. The best part was the end. Because it was over. Everyone raved about this movie, and how touching and moving it was. I'll have to strenuously disagree on this.

I think it was a sad tale written with a sad ending. I didn't find it that romantic at all, and the whole plot was based on romance.. so. I think I'll end my rant on it there.

It reminds me a lot of how people say Romeo and Juliet is romantic. Personally, I think it's a bit overrated, and I don't think it's near being one of Shakespeare's better plays...it's just teenage ridiculousness...not romance.

I kinda want to throw dirt in Nicholas Sparks' hair.

Don't love it, don't hate it. It was...meh. Same goes for A Walk to Remember & Dear John. Hm, Message in a Bottle was a bit better but I might be delusional, saw it years ago. Haven't seen others, haven't read any of Sparks's books.

As Sir Percy Blakeney once said: "There is nothing so bad as something that is not so bad."

I didn't see the movie, but I tried to read the book and couldn't even get halfway through. I don't guess I care for Nicholas Sparks as a fiction writer. I did like the non-fiction book he wrote about him and his brother taking a cross country trip or something. I read it years ago.

Hate it. I've only seen the movie (did not know there was a book). It struck me as a very shallow view of feelings & relationships. Cliche & cheesy.....Bad dialogue too.
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

First time I watched it, I was really young then. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

However, I can't stand it now.

First saw this movie in the bus during a school trip. I thought it was boring and I nearly fell asleap while watching it, I just can't stand romance movies. I don't get what girls like about the Notebook. Does this mean I'm a dude?
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."
