It seems like Sensing carries such negative connotations in MBTI communities that 'sensor' itself is being viewed [more and more increasingly] as one of the deepest insults you can throw at someone -- a "bad word" that is offensive, whether or not it's in a demeaning context, and almost never received as favorable.

I think that's a lot worse than the joke.

It depends. I think the context matters more whether the word carries the negative connotation, because I notice that in many topics, "sensors" just seem neutral.

While I've personally never been TG's biggest cheerleader, I do think you guys are overreacting to what she said. Her latest MBTI test scores show that she wishes she were ESTJ, whether she really is ESTx or not.

While the style of the original thread was beligerent and over-the-top, I kind of relate to TG because I over state things too, exaggerate, and use harsh language on occasion. TG wasn't categorizing sensors any differently than she would do anyone else...trust me. I actually kind of agree with what she said. People really are freaking out over the forum style change in a way that seems a bit excessive.

If anything, the sensors are probably calmer about it.

Yeah, she's definitely paying for all the sins of the collective anti-sensor bias right now. Kinda like Christ.

But apparently, most of them aren't.

Just because a person has an outburst doesn't mean it's gonna be all fine and dandy to others.

Perhaps this thread should be changed to "This is how sensitive people are to jokes/insults about sensors".

I mean about the forum changes, not the sensor jokes. I observed a large number of NTs complaining about the forum changes.

Of course people aren't going to change just because TG expressed her opinion. TG is just like that.

THIS IS BEING BLOWN OUT OF PROPORTION.

I wasn't even mildly offended by the comment when I saw it. It wasn't laugh out loud funny, nor did I smile about it even, but I wouldn't call it a joke anyway. It was a little clever, considering this is an MBTI dominated website.

    Chill out.
Don't know how much it'll bend til it breaks.
