Smile Modulating our emotions, and critiquing our culture.

We are emotionally mature when we can modulate our own emotions.

And we are intellectually mature when we can critique our own culture.

The problem is that we all want a better house, a better car, a better job, better qualifications or even a better spouse, but no one want to be more mature.

This is because maturity invisible. We toil up the mountain of maturity for most of our lives, and it is only when we reach the top that we can see the view.

Hehe thanks... although I think you're being generous with the word "summary!" I got a little long-winded there.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

Not really. It's a rather complex topic.

Maturity, in any single context, either means:

Being of a certain age, usually of adulthood, or being non-childish. I recommend Silently Honest's signature.

OH! I see! So we're supposed to make up our own definitions for things! Let's see...

I perceived a mature person who ate lucky charms, wore a purple bandana and thought Arizona was essentially mars.

Therefore, maturity is "eating lucky charms, wearing purple bandanas and thinking Arizona is Mars *dolphin noises*"!

Thanks guys! Making my own definitions for things is so much more empowering and truthful than that old archaic dictionary!

There were some thoughtful responses in this thread. Hopefully, more members will also provide their thoughts about how they personally define "maturity".

Regarding my maturity you can imagine it like a lost love. It's best described in the lyrics of this song how I lost maturity
