Default What are Fun Things to do in the Rain?

Summer is over and we move into Autumn. I prefer the word Autumn to fall. At least when it comes to seasons.

Planned to play tennis today and now that it is raining am pondering if it is a 'no go'. Not too rainy yet mostly scattered showers.

I used to live a bit in a place where it rained all of the time. Kinda forgot what I did for fun back then.

When I was a kid I used to pick leaves and pretend they were boats and place them in the side drainage of the streets with a buddy and chased them down the hill to the storm gutters. Usually when we got back a Mom or Gramma would fix us hot cocoa and a snack.

Never felt so alive as a kid then playing in the rain.

Now as an adult I ponder. What is there to do when it rains.?

    Discuss.

    Watch movies
    Read
    Cuddle
Watch lightning from inside the house through the window (or inside the car!)
If it's not too cold, playing in the rain as an adult is still fun
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

When it rains, I usually do one of the following things

-Get on with whatever I have to do
    -Walk in the rain
-Hide undercover and look out at the rain thinking
-Stay inside and do something else while listening to the rain (any of the millions of things to do inside)

I can't remember who it was but someone did this, with an in-depth study and everything and won a prize for great useless achievement in scientific study.

Yeah this is the first rain of the season and in a way it can be a spectator sport. It also has its own music of sorts. I especially like the imagery of the "Hide undercover and look out at the rain thinking"

Always thought of reading as being a solitary act but can see it as a social act with a girlfriend or buddy, particularly at a coffee shoppe with comfy furniture. An extension of that would be reading out loud (or having them read to me) from a book. What would a good book for reading out loud to a love one be?

Agree rain is perfect atmosphere for cuddling. Especially with thunder and lightning.

I hadn't thought about watching the rain from a car in a while. I used to work security when I was in college. And now come to think of it, some of my favorite shifts were sitting in my car while it rained.

All the fun things in life have already been done.

    Maybe a rebuttal?
