I thought the whole point was that they weren't an awesome use of time. But then I never got an elementary school report card with a satisfactory grade on "uses time wisely."

Probably my only current productive hobby is keeping chickens. It is a good use of time because it really doesn't take a lot of time, but you get eggs. I also like to go for walks with my husband which is fun and good exercise.

My main time sinks are browsing this forum, playing World of Warcraft, and reading fiction (mostly fantasy). Everything else I just sort of dabble in when the fancy hits. I do a little vegetable gardening, sewing, halfhearted botany, camp once or twice a year and fish when I'm not too cheap to buy a license.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

Mostly learning and playing music. I think yoga's gonna be a thing, too. I also like playing with makeup sometimes.

I like writing, but the muse comes very sporadically.

Reading esoteric, eclectic and often times neglected information that is non mainstream, the thesaurus too. I used to be into soccer and computer games when I was a sprout. Then it quickly became apparent my head was able to crack walnuts. And so I crammed...more...further than anybody else could cram...factoid after factoid of inconsequential data like thermoluminescence and transillumination and stuff. Always a blast, except then somebody threw a spanner into my brain and it quickly dematerialized into squash and hence I faded between low factoid frequencies of none nebulous wordage and a whole lot of inference and pass times.

George Carlin once observed: Interests are free. Hobbies cost money.

By this definition, I have no hobbies. I'll spend money on some unusual project once in a blue moon, but for the most part...

Well, movies and books I spend money on sometimes. Stand-up comedy and music also.
