I'm pretty sure I have an ISFJ hero and an ENxP foil.

My main characters are never heros. If there happen to be any heros, they're also a bit psycho. My heros are usually INTJ, INTP or ISTJ.
I was sitting outside the classroom waiting to go in, and I saw an airplane hit the tower. The TV was obviously on. I used to fly myself and I said, "There's one terrible pilot."

If you don't agree about my MBTI type, you can complain about it here. I've had plenty of people telling me I'm something else, in my reputation box. That's annoying.

In the novel I worked most on, the two main characters were ExFP (male) and INTJ (female), and the two supporting characters were ENTP and ESTJ (males). We also had a variety of supporting characters, ranging from INTP and ISFJ to ISTP, ESTP, and INFJ.

I had done some work on another one and the two leads there were an INFP female and an ISTJ male.

I think MBTI is kind of helpful to get the basic gist of a charater and establishing some basic motivations to check against during the story -- it's a great jumpstart and broad-based guidelines -- but the goal is get the character writing itself and once that happens, you go with the character and not the MBTI type.

(Otherwise chances are you'll have a cookie-cutter character.)

Well, I guess my definition of "hero" is a bit flexible.

My "hero" is Hell's demonic chimney sweeper, and he set up a portal to Hell in the closet of the house he's boarding in. Our "foil" is the daughter of the house owner, an atheist who's being blackmailed by the "hero" into not telling anyone else about this portal and being bribed not to tell anyone about the "hero"'s smoking habit with cigarettes.

    Main: ISFP
    Villain (main's father): ESTJ
Kind of the surrogate parent for the main: INFJ (Actually, he'd be the hero, if anything)

The story is pretty open ended though, and there are representatives of every type.
