    Personally, I think I talk too much for a newb. I should have lurked longer or at least, not been so hasty in settling on a type (I came here confused on isfp/infp... now i've added isfj/infj ).

    Not that every thread requires a perspective of one's type or anything (like some of the off topic stuff in Relationships or Entertainment).

    OTOH, participating is part of learning about the subject (MBTI, that is).

    Yeah, I'd think that stat has more to do with people joining, posting a bit, then wandering off. Or even joining, never posting at all and wandering off. That's really common. That's different from lurking, which is people sticking around for a long time and just reading.

    There are people who join forums but don't intend to follow them over any long term. They set up an account for the purpose of asking that one particular question, get their response and don't revisit it. I know I've done that myself with a couple of health related forums. I suppose those people are included in the 90% but they aren't truly lurkers.
